Thanks
A Thanksgiving Travel Trip
There is much that I have to give thanks for this year. Having a roof, amazing roommates, being further less in debt, having a job, having an amazing family, having an amazing girlfriend…
I guess I should start with my adventure up to Maryland. I had only gotten my tickets a week and a half ago, not having finalized plans until late. I chose to fly Southwest (two free checked bags) on the way up, and AirTran (after upgrading for free to Business class, two free checked bags) on the way down. Southwest was a relatively good flight, but things went very south upon receiving my checked bag.
Either my bag got dragged, or there are giant airplane rats on Southwest.
The Southwest Customer Service rep was very nice, and did give me a free replacement bag. This is all happening at 12:30am, and and my patient brother, who was sent to pick me up from the airport, circled around a few times before finally picking me up at 1am.
Thanksgiving Day, we went to my aunt and uncle’s home in Severna Park. It was very enjoyable, and I got to see a lot of people that I hadn’t seen in quite a while, including my cousin who lives in Hawaii.
Black Friday, I…well, we had flapjacks in the morning. We went to Westminster to get Alex a phone (specifically with a eccentric rotating mass). He found one, and now he’s able to really work on his research on vibrotactile feedback.
Saturday, my mom and I sat in a bar at BWI to watch the Tech game. After the third quarter (with the outcome of the game unfortunately all but decided), I went through the shortest security line I’ve dealt with in a long while, which was very nice! It was really cool being business class, because I was in seat A1. I felt really special! And I was very surprised at the ATL airport; Alex and Matt had come to pick me up! An hour later (AirTran was really slow getting the bags from the airplane to baggage claim), we were on our way back to the apartment.
Sunday, I’m sitting in *$’s on GT campus, waiting for chapter to be out. Life is good.
